Nostalgic Brewing Company to open in Longmont

Nostalgic Brewing Company officially announced Saturday, that they have now raised the required 25% funding needed to put their brewery plan in motion. The brewery, which has been listed on the American Homebrewers Association website as “in planning” for the last six months, finally gained traction after founder Nick Goddard, quit his job last week. “After everything that has negatively affected employment stability since the recession, I was finally ready to fight for my passion.” says Goddard.
It seems his realization was just the kick-in-the-pants he needed to move forward on his dream. After circulating a unique business plan aimed at opening a brewery on the cheap, a private investor has taken interest in the venture, and forward momentum has finally taken shape.

Nick, who began his brewing career at local brew supply shop The Bald Brewer, says he owes his early expertise and connections to shop owner Mark Miesel. Thanks(in part) to Miesel, Nick secured a position as a brewer for Twisted Pine Brewing Company. There, he gained his commercial brewing experience and formed his vision for the craft beer brand now known as Nostalgic Brewing Company.

Nostalgic Brewing Company plans to offer beer lovers a unique angle on branding and an atmosphere aimed at enthralling local gaming/indie cultures. A proud lifelong geek, Nick plans to create a craft beer business that speaks to others who enjoy “geeking out” on gaming, film, music, and other media that carry with them time worn loyalty and nostalgia among fans.

A father of two, Nick says he values the stability job security has provided in the past, but is ready to show his family and local community members that business does not have to be a dog-eat-dog environment. When Nick first began organizing his business plans, he discovered a huge lack of non-monetary resources available for start-up. He and spouse Hailey (a local marketer for Bk Media Group) were first exposed to unique beer business network resources through direct associations with brands at craft beer events.

A solution formulated when they saw fellow craft beer business owners exchanging resources that were encouraging collective growth. They realized that beer business collaborations were being exchanged all the time, and that a simple set of social tools were providing brand managers with resources they might otherwise do without. They set out to expand on what they began referring to as “brand collaboration” and began utilizing social networks to seek out “social donations”.  The process is proving to be low-cost, simple, efficient, and legal. This project has become part of Nostalgic Brewing Company’s mission, and is now known as “The Handshake Project”.

Plans remain firm to open a location in Longmont, CO and a few sites have already been approached for lease. However, product may be released to the public even earlier, due to a secret plan in the works with a local collaborator. Nick’s spouse Hailey, plans to announce details as soon as early next month via Facebook.
